Editorial policy

Most roofing websites publish marketing copy. This one tries to publish something you can actually use to make a decision — including in the cases where the decision is not to hire anybody. Here is how it is made, who checks it, and how we are paid.

Who writes this

Content is written and maintained by the Valdosta Roof Leak Pros editorial team and published under the company's name. We do not publish under invented author names.

That is a deliberate choice. We are a referral service, not a roofing contractor — we do not climb roofs and we do not perform repairs. Giving this content a byline from a fictional "master roofer" would imply hands-on expertise nobody here has, and you would have no way to check it. Organisational authorship is the honest description of what this is.

Who reviews it

Technical review by a licensed Georgia roofing contractor is pending. When it is in place, the reviewer will be named here and on each page they have reviewed, with their licence number and a link to verify it. Until then, treat the technical content as carefully researched but not professionally reviewed.

Where the cost figures come from

Cost ranges on this site are for planning, not quotes. They are built from local market rates for the Valdosta and Lowndes County area and sense-checked against what other roofers in the region publish openly.

They are deliberately given as ranges, because the honest answer to "what will this cost" is a range until somebody has been on your roof and in your attic. We do not publish a single figure to look precise. Where a national average would be misleading for this market — and it usually is — we say so.

How local claims are checked

Statements about Lowndes County — ZIP codes, neighbouring towns, rainfall, named storms and their dates, licensing bodies — are checked against primary sources before publication. Where something is an estimate rather than a verified fact, we say which.

Regulatory and insurance content is the area where being wrong does real damage, so it carries a standing caveat: policy wording varies by carrier, rules change, and nothing here is legal or insurance advice.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to help draft and structure content. Every page is then edited by a person, fact-checked against sources, and checked against a local-detail brief before it goes live. Nothing is published straight from a model.

We disclose it so you can weigh what you read accordingly, and we have tried to write the site so it is useful whether or not you call. The cost pages tell you what work should run so you can judge a quote. The leak-versus-condensation guide will tell some readers they do not have a roof problem at all. The roof replacement page argues that most Valdosta roofs quoted for replacement do not need one — which is against our own commercial interest, and true.

• Publish reviews or ratings we cannot substantiate. We have no Google Business Profile — a referral service cannot legitimately hold one — so we show no rating of our own. If a partner contractor's real rating appears here, it will say whose it is and link to it.
• Use stock photos of crews and imply they are ours.
• Claim licences, certifications or years in business that are not ours.
• Give legal or insurance advice, or negotiate a claim — that is a licensed activity in Georgia.
